Watching Families Grow
Nothing beats the privilege of watching a family grow over the years! I had the absolute joy of photographing this sweet family for the third time, and this shoot was extra special. If you remember their behind-the-scenes session blogged here, you’ll recall how much fun we had with the girls a few years back.
We have fun photographing young families with toddlers. Every toddler comes with an internal timer. You have only a few seconds before he’s done and onto his own ideas. The photo on the left was taken just a few clicks before he took off for the stool I brought. Games are another way we capture genuine moments. On the right, he’s loving the family walking game. I think families are so beautiful when they are just being themselves and interacting with each other.
I think the best portraits are captured when kids are having fun. That's the environment I hope to create during family photo sessions. And kids change so quickly from one stage to the next. We can’t freeze time, but this is the next best thing.
We ended our session with plenty of movement and play. I was trying to capture the fun of childhood and wear kids out for the parents at the same time, hahaha!
