Friday Night Lights

Football highlights this senior's high school days. Given the close team camaraderie and football traditions, the countless hours of practice and play in every type of weather would make the sacrifice worth it.

It was fun to depart from my typical park photo shoots for a location shoot. Location shoots take a bit more effort, but the payoff is a personalized photoshoot commemorating a special place. First, I need to scout the location ahead of time to plan the shoot and study how the light falls. Light in photography is everything.

Also, there's always a chance of a snag in the plan. For example, a middle school practice was happening in the background. Initially, we were told no one would be at the field. But everyone there seemed unphased by us. We were even granted access to the locker room after hours. I brought in a light for more dramatic, creative portraits.

It's always fun when clients are game for letting me try different creative setups. A person can go far with an easy-going attitude like his.
